About Kate Studer
Kate decided that writing and editing would be a big part of her life early on, when she wrote her first book about a unicorn who eats rainbows.
She went on to write and edit many more stories (some featuring unicorns) at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, where she graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Professional Writing.
After a brief stint working in youth magazine publishing, it became clear the charmed world of fiction is where her heart is most happy. So, she embarked on her journey into the book-publishing world, first as an in-house assistant editor for Harlequin, working primarily with their MIRA and HQN (now Canary Street Press) imprints, and now as a freelance editor and copywriter, where she’s incredibly fortunate to continue working with phenomenal writers, ranging from indie and querying authors, to New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors in a variety of genres.
Kate makes her home in Southwestern Ontario, where she lives with her husband, two children, a cat, and a dog, and spends her spare time writing both young adult and adult fiction. Her author website can be found at www.katepawsonstuder.com
